Synopsis
In The Electric State (2025), set in a retro-futuristic 1990s, teenager Michelle (Millie Bobby Brown) embarks on a journey across a post-apocalyptic American West to find her missing brother, Christopher. Accompanied by Cosmo, a robot resembling a beloved cartoon character and seemingly controlled by Christopher, she navigates a world where robots have been exiled following a failed uprising. Along the way, she teams up with Keats (Chris Pratt), a smuggler, and his shape-shifting robot companion, Herman. Their quest leads them into the Exclusion Zone, a desolate area inhabited by sentient robots, where they uncover the disturbing truth about Christopher's fate and the sinister forces at play. The film explores themes of humanity, technology, and the blurred lines between virtual and real worlds in a retro-futuristic 1990s setting.
